The central celebration of the Day of the Montenegrin Army (MCG) will be held on Friday, October 7 at Independence Square in Podgorica.
As announced by the Ministry of Defence, the President of Montenegro Milo Đukanović, Minister Raško Konjević and Chief of the General Staff of the Croatian Army Zoran Lazarević will speak at the ceremony, which will begin at 18 p.m.
"Tomorrow, about 30 new soldiers under the contract will take the oath, and the newly produced second lieutenants, female officers and officers, who graduated from the military academy abroad this year, will be presented," the announcement states.
It is added that part of the ceremony will be a short cultural and artistic program in which the VCG Military Orchestra and the KIC POP Choir will participate.
The Ministry said that at the end of the program, a new VCG promotional video will be shown.
As they stated, before the main ceremony, from 11 a.m., the Army in Your Town event will be held on the Square, which has already visited Bar, Kolašin, Pljevlja, Bijelo Polje and Danilovgrad.
The Ministry of Defense invited citizens to attend the events tomorrow in order to celebrate together the VCG Day, which is celebrated in memory of the Battle of Tuđemil, when the Dukla army won a historic victory over Byzantium.
"The history of Montenegrin state independence began with this battle," the Ministry reminded.
