The construction of the shelter for abandoned animals in Bar is proceeding according to plan, and the completion of the works can be expected soon, said Darinka Martinović Milošević, a candidate for councilor on the "Radomir Novaković Cakan – Biram Bar" list.
"The perennial problem with neglected animals will finally be solved to the satisfaction of the citizens of Bar. The animals will be housed in humane conditions, and next year we will not welcome tourists with packs of dogs roaming around the city," the party announced.
Martinović Milošević claims that such a shelter is the first of its kind to be built in a wider area. "It is a prerequisite for us to be part of a wider network of aid beneficiaries of European associations that actively help in the procurement of food and equipment for facilities of this type".
"What is also important is that Bar will finally have a service that every citizen can turn to in order to keep dogs off the streets," she pointed out.
Martinović Milošević also said that the desire of the designers is for the shelter complex, with its park elements - greenery and benches, and through the use of natural materials - stone and wood, to be a pleasant environment where visitors will have the opportunity to meet animals and decide to adopt a cat or a dog.
