With the annex, Štrabag undertook to continue the road reconstruction work, so now they want to move the machine to Pljevlja

As soon as the asphalting of the Bistrica - Gubavac road in the municipality of Bijelo Polje was resumed, the work was interrupted again, to which the locals responded by blocking the road today in the center of Bistrica.

The President of the Municipal Council of Bistrica, Sakib Čindrak, said that the locals blocked the machine in the center of the local center of Bistrica, after they were informed by the contractor company "Štrabag" that they were moving the machine to Pljevlja and other northern cities, because, allegedly, "they do not have a prepared surface for asphalting ".

Work on the reconstruction of the road, which is part of the Đalovića Cave project, continued ten days ago after several blockades by the locals.

Before the company Štrabag continued the work, the companies Crnogorski Telekom and Ramel completed their part of the obligations.

The work on that road was supposed to be completed by September last year. Locals repeatedly pointed out that they cannot live on dust, which is why they threatened to file lawsuits in court.

Čindrak said that the locals were outraged after learning that the contractor had moved machines from that part of the municipality.

We were told by "Strabago" that they will take the machines to Pljevlja, and that they will return in 20 days, which is unacceptable and unsustainable.

"In 20 days, the end of the working season in the north of Montenegro and they would not be able to continue the work and finish it," said Čidrak, reminding that the continuation of the work was agreed upon by an annex to the contract at a meeting organized exactly one month ago by the Directorate of Public Works and Ministry of Capital Investments.

The locals, as they point out, will persevere for the simple reason that they waited so long for the continuation of the works, which had been suspended for two years.

They request that the company "Štrabag" continue the work according to the agreed dynamics, as stated in the annex, and they offered the contractor to help in the construction work on the reconstruction of the road themselves, in order to finish that part of the reconstruction as soon as possible and enable the same company to continue the work on asphalting.

The local MZ claim that the company can prepare the pre-asphalt layer smoothly in two or three interruptions, so that the company is free to immediately continue with asphalting.

"Strabago told us that they don't have a surface, which is not true," said Čidnrak, adding that about 2 meters of asphalt has been paved on that part of the road in the last ten days, from the direction of the center of Bistrica towards Gubavč.
