The trade union organization of the Institute for the Execution of Criminal Sanctions (ZIKS) sent its support to the Independent Police Union and said that it wholeheartedly supports their efforts and demands.
"We want you to know that you are not alone in your fight for your rights and the improvement of working conditions, the preservation of the dignity of the profession, the safety and security of your lives and your families," states the statement signed by the president of the ZIKS union Milan Ilibašić.
He said that they wholeheartedly support their efforts and requests and that they provide unreserved support to persevere in them. "Because there is nothing simpler than not giving yours, and not giving someone else's".
They pointed out that they are truly happy that in the "grey trade union sky", new leaders and organizations are slowly but surely emerging every now and then that do not allow the humiliation of their professions and keep the flame of trade union activism and the fight for workers' rights alive.
"With a sincere apology that the representatives of the administrative bodies of the Trade Union Organization of the Administration for the Execution of Criminal Sanctions, due to their previously assumed obligations, could not attend your protest today and thus support you directly, rest assured that you can count on us in the future," the statement reads.
