The trade union organization DOO "Vodovod" Pljevlja provided support to the workers who, as stated in the announcement, "were assigned temporarily to other workplaces without any basis or logic."
They also announced the initiation of legal procedures to protect workers' rights.
"The Židovići waste water treatment plant belongs to Pljevlja Waterworks, and all expenses, and thus the wages of the employees, are financed by the Municipality of Pljevlja, until the plant receives a use permit. Currently, the plant is being worked on by contractors, and the presence of our workers and their professional training is of great importance for the further operation of the plant. Despite this, Acting Executive Director Dragašević Mladen arbitrarily, without the opinion of the heads of departments as well as the opinion of the Municipality of Pljevlja, chooses five workers for reasons known only to him and sends them on a temporary assignment to the positions of waterworks and sewage workers. How these are mostly people who have almost no experience of working in those jobs, which are assessed by the risk assessment act as high-risk jobs, thus putting untrained people at risk of injury or some more serious consequences. it contradicts the fact that, along with this temporary assignment, the Board of Directors is asking for the expansion of systematization, i.e. the opening of new jobs, and by some miracle, in that proposal, it does not ask for an increase in the number of executors who, according to it, fail in waterworks and sewerage work," states the statement, which signed by the president of the trade union organization Goran Drobnjak.
He also claims that in the last month, Dragašević hired about a dozen people through the agency, mostly for office and some other jobs, but not for jobs in the water supply and sewage system.
"All these facts give rise to the suspicion that it is about personal and political interest, and not interest in better work and progress of Vodovod, and the possible consequences on the work process due to such decisions can only be borne by the one who made them. Union organization DOO Vodovod Pljevlja provides full support to our colleagues and will initiate legal procedures to protect the rights of workers", the announcement states.
