The editor of Gradska RTV Tamara Nikčević said that they were informally confirmed that the threats to Pećanin and insults to Milica Pavićević came from the same address from which the editor of M portal Danica Nikolić was previously threatened.
Nikolić told Pobjeda that the police, in case of threats to her and the M portal, reacted quickly and found the person who sent the emails, adding that it was a person who is outside of Montenegro, and that in the meantime they had received several more threatening messages. emails.
Prosecute those responsible
Action for Human Rights (HRA) said that they expect the competent state prosecutor's office to "immediately investigate and prosecute the case of threats to the journalists of Gradska TV and Pobjeda, without any tolerance towards death threats and the promotion of hatred".
"Journalists must be safe in a democratic state," said the NGO on Twitter.
The Social Democrats (SD) condemned the threats and called on the authorities to find those responsible.
"I guess it is completely obvious that this kind of behavior is the result of the 'liberation' of Podgorica and the election result that goes in favor of those who use such threats. We hereby call on the competent state authorities to find the perpetrators of this act as soon as possible and sanction them in accordance with the law. thereby setting an example that threats and jeopardizing security will not be allowed even in the 'liberated' Capital City," the SD announced.
CGO: Attempt to limit media freedom
The Center for Civic Education (CGO) said that the intimidation of journalists is an attempt to limit freedom of expression and media freedom.
"The CGE condemns the threats addressed to Milica Pavićević and Senad Pećanin from Gradska TV. Decision-makers and competent authorities must not allow this attitude towards journalists to become the new normal. Intimidation of journalists is an attempt to limit freedom of expression and media freedom," the CGE wrote on Twitter.
Liberal Party: Threats are obviously the first and real results of the elections in Podgorica
The Liberana Party condemned the threats received by the journalists of Gradska TV and called on the competent authorities to urgently investigate and sanction the authors of the threats, thus sending a message of the inadmissibility of such speech.
"Such gruesome threats to journalists because of publicly spoken words are obviously the first and real results of the elections in Podgorica", according to that party.
"Threats related to the national, religious and political affiliation of individuals are a clear indicator of what kind of evil spirits have been awakened by the politicians who intend to lead the Capital City, and if they have any responsibility towards the public and citizens, we expect them to condemn such phenomena and send a message of the unacceptability of such speech towards dissenters," added in their statement.
