The President of the Parliament of Montenegro, Danijela Đurović, sent a congratulatory message on the occasion of the Herceg Novi Municipality Day on October 28, to the President of the Municipality Stevan Katic, the President of the Assembly Ivan Otović, councilors and all citizens of that city.
"On behalf of the Parliament of Montenegro and on my own behalf, I heartily congratulate October 28, Herceg Novi Municipality Day," said Đurović.
"The city under Orjen has always been known as a place where culture and art were especially valued and where numerous writers, painters and other creators, both from Montenegro and from other countries, lived and worked, who made an immeasurable contribution to the cultural the heritage of our country and spread a good word about it," the announcement states.
He points out that "Herceg Novi has a realistic perspective for faster economic development, for employment and achieving a better standard, first of all through the realization of investments in the field of tourism, road infrastructure and energy, which will additionally strengthen the stability and strengthen the position of our country in the process of regional and European integration".
Đurović emphasizes that, "it is up to the local self-government and the state to create an environment in which the residents of this city will see opportunities and possibilities for advancement right in their hometown with a wise, domestic and thoughtful policy."
As he says, the development of Herceg Novi must be based on equal opportunities for everyone, and especially on support for young people, to whom both the municipality and the state must give the wind at their backs to realize all their potential.
"Only in this way can we create realistic conditions for the overall progress of this Adriatic pearl," Đurović concluded.
