"The current political situation in Montenegro is challenging, and in order to continue further reforms that would speed up the path to the European Union, the first item on that path must be the resolution of the status of the Constitutional Court", it was announced at the meeting of the Minister of the Interior Filip Adžić and the Ambassador of Italy Andrea Marcela .
Adžić highlighted the current cooperation between Montenegro and Italy in the field of internal affairs, stressing that it is very important for the Montenegrin side and that he hopes that it will improve further, according to the announcement.
Marcela expressed her satisfaction with the cooperation so far, and offered the help of Italian institutions in solving the problems caused by the recent cyber attack on the Montenegrin information system.
Marcela points out that despite the recent political changes in Italy, the policy towards the countries of the Western Balkans has not and will not change, and that Italy remains one of the biggest promoters of EU enlargement.
Adžić emphasized the cooperation that exists between the police of the two countries and announced the signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation, which will facilitate the procurement of technical means to improve the capacities of the MUP.
Adžić and Marsela hope that at the session of the Parliament of Montenegro, a broad consensus of all political entities will be reached, in order to resolve the issue of the status of the Constitutional Court, the announcement concludes.
