"I send my heartiest congratulations on the occasion of November 13, the date when we remember the liberation of our Capital in 1944 in the Second World War," announced the President of the Parliament of Montenegro, Danijela Đurović, on the eve of Cetinje Capital Day.
Đurović points out that "this day reminds us of the libertarian spirit that Cetinje has exuded since its inception, as well as the sacrifices our ancestors made for the freedom of Cetinje and the homeland".
This is what she said to Mayor Nikola Đurašković, President of the Capital Assembly Milena Vujačić, councilors and all citizens of Cetinje, according to the announcement.
Đurović emphasizes that for centuries Cetinje occupied a special place in the history not only of Montenegro, but also of the entire Balkans and even Europe. The merciless fight for freedom was the guiding principle of every resident of Cetinje who passed on the values of freedom, honor, courage and patriotism to their descendants.
As he says, in the spiritual, cultural and urban-architectural sense, Cetinje is the pearl of our country, a museum city and a symbol of true European culture. However, in terms of economy and infrastructure, unfortunately, Cetinje has been lagging behind other cities in Montenegro for a long time.
Therefore, the state has an obligation to treat Cetinje with special attention and to make maximum efforts in order to use the undoubted touristic, economic and ecological potential that this city has, as well as to valorize its extremely valuable spiritual, cultural and historical heritage, it is emphasized. in the statement.
Đurović claims that "in this sense, it is very important to create preconditions for the initiation and implementation of projects that will take advantage of all the advantages of the city. This can be achieved through the creation of new jobs and the attraction of foreign investments, which requires continuous and high-quality cooperation of local and state authorities ".
"I am convinced that the capital city will be able to go on the path of progress and improvement of the quality of life of the citizens and that we will once again proudly talk about it as the center of our country," Đurović concluded.
