The Tivat Health Center said that diabetes is the most prevalent and significant metabolic disorder, which leads to an increase in blood sugar levels.
The Health Center Tivat is celebrating November 14 - the World Day of the Fight Against Diabetes, and on this occasion the selected medical teams of the Health Center Tivat will organize blood sugar and blood pressure measurements for all interested citizens on Monday from 10.30:12 a.m. to XNUMX noon, on the terrace of the Pine Hotel, as and providing medical advice and recommendations in order to prevent this serious disease that greatly affects the entire population.
They add that also, on Monday at 13:1 p.m. in the premises of the Children's Department in the Tivat Health Center, a free HbA1C determination from capillary blood will be organized for children with type XNUMX diabetes from the territory of the Municipality of Tivat.
"Since the Health Center received the HbA1C monitoring device from a donation, in the future it will be provided free of charge to children suffering from this type of diabetes, according to the announcement of the Health Center Tivat.
Type 1 diabetes, which is an autoimmune disease and cannot be prevented, is more common, they say, among the younger population in Montenegro.
They add that type 2 diabetes is more prevalent among adults, which can be successfully prevented with preventive measures.
According to them, it is therefore very important to work on raising public awareness of the importance of detecting and suppressing diabetes, healthy lifestyles and eliminating risk factors that cause contracting this disease, which can cause serious health consequences.
