MUP: Delivery of license plates during the next week

The Ministry of Internal Affairs (MUP) announced that we are expecting the delivery of license plates during the next week.

They said that the Ministry of Internal Affairs immediately after the arrival of the new management undertook all activities, so that there would be no interruption in the delivery of license plates.

"However, due to a number of circumstances, one of which is due to the fact that the public procurement portal was not in operation for a long time, there was a certain delay," the Ministry of the Interior said in a statement.

Due to the expiration of the contract with the supplier who produced license plates in the previous period, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as announced, promptly initiated the public procurement procedure.

They state that the procedure was first initiated on the public procurement portal on May 25 of this year, and the opening of bids was scheduled for July 4.

They add that on that occasion, two offers were received that were incorrect, and therefore on July 12, a decision was made to cancel the procedure.

As they say, one bidder filed an appeal against that decision, which was rejected as unfounded on July 28, which was published on the portal on July 29.

They announced that after that, the MUP initiated a new procedure on August 2, and the opening of those offers was scheduled for August 29, but due to the consequences of the cyber attack, it took place on September 30.

That time, as they say, the offer was submitted by three bidders, one of whom was selected on October 17, when the decision was also published on the public procurement portal.

However, one bidder filed an appeal against that decision, which was rejected on November 4.

"In the repeated public procurement procedure, the most favorable bidder was selected and a contract was drawn up with him on the selection of the person who will make and deliver license plates, the entry into force of which, now certain, is expected as soon as possible, i.e. as early as next week, as soon as the supplier submit a guarantee for the good performance of the contract," the Ministry of Interior announced.

Having, as they say, an understanding of the problems of the citizens, the Ministry of Interior, despite the circumstances that led to the problems in the previous months, tried to offer certain solutions to permanently overcome the problems.

They said that, as an alternative, citizens could use the old license plates until new ones were obtained, and also when submitting the request for license plates, they received a certificate with which it is possible to drive the vehicle for up to 30 days, in accordance with the Law on Traffic Safety on the roads.

They add that in certain municipalities where license plates are missing, the Ministry of Internal Affairs tried to provide a certain number of them in situations that were deemed urgent, such as the first registration of a vehicle.

"The Ministry of Internal Affairs has undertaken and will continue to undertake all measures and actions in accordance with the law, and we hereby ask the citizens for their patience and understanding, since overcoming this problem is expected as soon as possible, about which the public will be informed in a timely manner", it concludes. in the announcement.
