Through its centuries-old existence, Pljevlja has been a guide to how people can live together in a permanent way, inheriting the timeless values of multiculturalism, multi-confessionalism and multi-ethnicity, announced the President of Montenegro, Milo Đukanović.
He said this on the occasion of the Pljevlja Municipality Day on November 20, according to the press release of the President's Information Service.
Đukanović points out that, "on those foundations, the city under Ljubišnja became a symbol of all faiths and nations in the defense of freedom and anti-fascism, and in modern, civil Montenegro, significantly contributed to its successes, from the restoration of independence, to membership in NATO and the acquisition of the status of a leader in the process of accession EU".
Đukanović congratulated the management of the municipality, councilors and all citizens of Pljevlja.
"By being responsible in preserving civilizational values and sustainably managing the resources of Pljevlja, I can continue the trend of technological and economic development of the city, in line with previously established strategic priorities," Đukanović concluded.
