The locals of Lepetan once again blocked traffic on the Adriatic highway at the Luka location near Lepetan at 13 p.m. today.
They are doing this for the third time in a row as a protest because the state has not adopted a Detailed Urban Plan for that settlement for ten years, thus blocking any possibility of legal construction in the area of Lepetan.
As a result, the locals cannot valorize their properties, nor solve existential issues such as building new houses. On the other hand, due to the lack of planning documentation, the Tivat Municipality's "hands are tied" and the local administration in Lepetani cannot build any new infrastructure and public facilities.
The residents of Lepetan at the blockade were supported today by several fellow citizens from other parts of the municipality of Tivat - from the city center, Lastva, Kalimanja and Krtola, as well as the vice president of the Municipality of Tivat Vladimir Arsić (NP).
The blockade is monitored and secured by members of the Tivat Security Department as well as the Municipal Police of the Municipality of Tivat.
The president of the Lepetane municipal council, Đuro Grubišić, said that the state, that is, the Ministry of Ecology, Spatial Planning and Urbanism persistently ignores them and that the locals are forced to fight for their basic rights with such protests on the street.
