It is very important that science is connected with the economy in the right way, that science finds its application in the economy, that is, that the economy relies on science and uses it, Minister of Science and Technological Development Biljana Šćepanović said.
According to that government department, she participated in the national conference organized on the occasion of the completion of the project "Improving cooperation between science and economy in Montenegro", which is implemented by the Sociological Center of Montenegro - SOCEN, and which is financially supported by the Ministry of Science and Technological Development.
"Science and the results of scientific research are all around us, they are used in the everyday life of all of us. And not only applied sciences, such as technical and technological, but also fundamental ones, such as mathematics, on which applied sciences are based," Šćepanović said.
Šćepanović, as stated, thanked SOCEN for the partnership and successfully implemented cooperation, emphasizing the complex topic of cooperation between science and business, that is, the improvement of this cooperation. She also emphasized their active participation and contribution in achieving the mission of MNTR, which is the promotion, development and application of science and innovation.
"It is of particular importance that we recognize innovations that go hand in hand with science, which our country does primarily through the concept of smart specialization - and that is a healthy, sustainable and digitized Montenegro," pointed out Šćepanović.
She concluded that only development based on knowledge, research and innovation is valid and sustainable, and we need the connection of science and innovation with the economy as the basic driver of society and its economic development.
