Milica Damjanović was chosen as the best student of the Faculty of Economics of the University of Montenegro (UCG) for the academic year 2022/23, with an average of 9.93.

"Recognition encourages self-actualization and reminds that effort, work and commitment are paid off, recognized and valued," she said, as reported by UCG.

She said it was a great honor to receive the award.

"Satisfaction is accompanied by a sense of responsibility, that in the future I will surely step towards new successes. "I am proud that despite the aggravating circumstances, due to the pandemic, I managed to follow my goals and achieve what I aimed for," she explains.

Damjanović believes that, in her case, good organization is the key to success.

"Every day of mine is planned, because time is a limited resource, so it should be used as wisely as possible. I found myself in this area. I love to explore, read and expand my horizons. Many would say giving up, but I still perceive it as quality time spent that will open many paths for me," she said and added that she tries to establish a balance and find time for everything.

The student recalls that the past two years were marked by the online mode of teaching, which, as she says, quite limited the possibility of organizing events and activities.

"Nevertheless, I would like to highlight that within the subject of International Economy, I was part of the prestigious Jean Monnet program approved by the European Commission for 2020-23. Part of the material is written in English, and numerous activities, such as guest lectures by professors from the EU and participation in a round table, brought me closer to the process of various economic integrations," said Damjanović and explained that in addition, through writing seminar and research papers, she gained many knowledge and strengthened competence, which, as he believes, will certainly be important in practice.

Damjanović also states that, in the current academic year, she became a member of the newly founded Center for Statistical Analysis within the Faculty of Economics, and that her goal is to improve her knowledge in the field of macroeconomic analysis.

"We are planning workshops in the field of visualization and graphic design, training classes for working with software and numerous activities in order to better prepare for master's studies, but also for the labor market and turbulent and changing business conditions," she explained.

When it comes to future plans, the student says that next year she will enroll in master's studies and continue her education abroad, preferably in Spain.

"There is a large number of partner universities with which the Faculty of Economics has long-term cooperation (with a special emphasis on the Erasmus + program), so I will devote the next few months to detailed research and the application process itself. I will also consider the offer of a university in Germany, since I also speak German. "Certainly, I think that the exchange is a great opportunity to expand the network of contacts and get to know new ways and methods of studying," adds Damjanović.

He tells the future generations of the Faculty of Economics that "in a pleasant atmosphere, they will acquire a lot of theoretical and practical knowledge and strengthen their competences".

"It is important to set goals for yourself from the first day and continuously work on achieving them. Economics is a complex science, which requires a thorough approach, broad perspectives and readiness for constant improvement".
