"Rašović is the best connoisseur of the works of Valtazar Bogišić"

Four volumes of the book Prince Nikola and Valtazar Bogišić by academician Zoran P. Rašović were presented in the University Hall in Zagreb.

Rašović is a regular member and secretary of the Department of Social Sciences of the Montenegrin Academy of Sciences and Arts and a regular professor at the Faculty of Law of the University of Montenegro.

The University of Zagreb announced that Tatjana Josipović and Dalibor Čepulo from the Faculty of Law of the University of Zagreb, Vlaho Bogišić, lexicographic advisor of the Lexicographic Institute Miroslav Krleža and the author, academician Zoran P. Rašović, spoke about the book.

They point out that Baltazar, Valtazar or Baldo Bogišić is a great name in Croatian jurisprudence and ethnography, a man of broad education and interests and a great international reputation.

Rašović is certainly, as they state, the most thorough researcher, the best connoisseur and the most objective analyst of the works of Valtazar Bogišić, which is not surprising, given the connections between Valtazar Bogišić and Montenegro, where Bogišić was the Minister of Justice in the period 1893-1899, and even earlier, at the invitation of Montenegrin Prince Nikola, he wrote the General Property Code for the Principality of Montenegro.

They add that Rašović, even before, published five books about Valtazar Bogišić.

The four volumes of the book that is now presented in Zagreb, published in 2021 by the Association of Lawyers of Montenegro, are, as they point out, enormous in scope and breadth and of exceptional quality, and represent a capital legal work that both symbolically and substantively connects Montenegrin and Croatian jurisprudence, but also culture in general.

It was announced that the meeting was organized by the Faculty of Law of the University of Zagreb, in cooperation with the Miroslav Krleža Lexicographic Institute, the Montenegrin Academy of Sciences and Arts, the Faculty of Law of the University of Podgorica and the Association of Lawyers of Montenegro, as part of strengthening its international and inter-institutional cooperation.

The meeting participants were greeted by the vice-rector for science, research and postgraduate studies of the University of Zagreb, Dubravko Majetić, director general of the Lexicographic Institute Miroslav Krleža, Bruno Kragić, dean of the Faculty of Law of the University of Montenegro, Aneta Spaić, president of the Association of Lawyers of Montenegro. , Branislav Radulović, and the Dean of the Faculty of Law, University of Zagreb, Ivan Koprić.
