On that occasion, he thanked the International Labor Organization for recognizing the importance of occupational health and safety and investing in their improvement.
"With this project, we emphasize three key problems in the implementation of safety and health measures at work, namely the institutional fragmentation of competences, by solving which we create better foundations for the application of regulations in this area," said Adrović.
He added that the subject of that project is also the implementation of activities related to strengthening the capacity of the occupational health and safety provider, which was the topic of discussion.
The third activity within that project will link the main institutions, which, as ordered, will each in their domain, through a unique software system, draw certain data on injuries at work and therefore act strategically.
He noted that safety and health at work is implemented and improved in parallel with economic development, technological development, with the support of tripartite dialogue and that therefore the role of everyone must be more visible, because only by working together can one step further in the direction of ensuring a safe and healthy working environment. places.
The National Coordinator of the International Labor Organization, Nina Krgović, pointed to the efforts made towards fulfilling the requirements from the final criteria of Chapter 19, and the important principles of the Decent Work Program.
"The International Labor Organization recognizes safety and health at work as a basic, fundamental right that protects employees around the world and directs efforts to contribute to the improvement of this system to the greatest extent through projects specifically dedicated to this topic. In accordance with the stated challenges in the safety and health system at work, the Government requested the support of the International Labor Organization in the field of international labor standards related to occupational health and safety," Krgović pointed out.
The resident coordinator of the United Nations system in Montenegro, Peter Lundberg, said that it seems that this topic, in the period after the pandemic, has become more important than ever.
He said that we are looking for further improvement of the situation in the field of health and safety at work, not only in Montenegro, and the adoption of the new Health and Safety Strategy at work at the end of this year is an important and key condition for the successful closing of Negotiation Chapter 19 on the way Montenegro towards the European Union.
"The development of expert analyzes is a positive step towards a stronger social standard of protection and health at work, which, we hope, will help to bring the national system into line with international labor standards and EU directives," said Lundberg.
The head of health and safety at work in the Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare, Danijela Šuković, reminded that health and safety at work is a fundamental social right of employees and that in Montenegro it is recognized as an activity of public interest.
"Namely, looking at the field of health and safety at work in Montenegro through the prism of all factors that directly and/or indirectly deal with this issue, with a special emphasis on the obligations arising from the accession negotiations, we came to the conclusion that, first of all, we need to act in the direction of improving the institutional framework, as well as improvements when it comes to occupational health and safety at all levels," Šuković said.
The Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare in the coming period will, as announced, continue to work intensively on the realization of activities in the direction of the full implementation of the Law on Safety and Health at Work and the regulations adopted on the basis of it, which will contribute to ensuring safe and healthy work for all employees in Montenegro.
