The Montenegrin human rights film festival Ubrzaj 2022 will be held from December 10 to 14 in Podgorica, Kotor and Berane, announced the Center for Civic Education (CGO).
The festival program will be held from December 10 to 14 at the Music Center and the Montenegrin Cinematheque in Podgorica, while the accompanying editions will be held at the "Boka" Cinema in Kotor from December 11 to 12, as well as at the Cultural Center in Berane from the 13 until December 14, according to the CGO announcement.
Admission to all screenings is free.
"As always, we bring exclusively premiere editions of films of exceptional quality and the latest productions, which have already managed to receive nominations and awards at prestigious regional, European and world festivals", added CGO.
They add that, in addition to the film screenings, an accompanying program is planned, in order to review the messages of certain films and actualize some of the burning issues in the field of human rights.
They emphasize that the festival attracts a wide and heterogeneous audience, and that the focus on the modern concept of human rights makes the festival a meeting place for various social actors, which strengthens tolerance and inclusion.
"The films we show are often far from commercial film expression, but they represent a valuable contribution to building a culture of human rights, because with their screenings we try to encourage critical thinking, dialogue and action, bringing together individuals and organizations that can be agents of change," added CGO.
"And this year, we invite our audience to step out of their comfort zone and face new and challenging realities, and to identify, at least for a short time, with the fate and lives of the most diverse individuals and communities, and to break the silence together with them or for them where must not be," concluded the CGO.
