In the Modern Gallery in Podgorica, the jubilee 30th edition of the December Art Scene DEUS 2022 was opened with the exhibition of the famous Montenegrin painter Dragan Karadžić, announced the Secretariat for Culture and Sports in Podgorica.
They add that the exhibition is accompanied by a monographic catalog published by the Museums and Galleries of Podgorica and the Montenegrin Academy of Sciences and Arts, while the exhibition will be open until February 28.
The DEUS program will last until December 28 and will include the "Children's Weekends" program, an outdoor segment intended for the youngest.
In addition, it will also include four plays for children that will be performed at noon in different city locations.
"On Sunday, December 4, there will be a performance of "Funny Clowns", on the 17th there will be a performance of "Little Red Riding Hood", on the 24th "Magic Books", while on December 25th, the New Year's play "Little Secrets of the Mraz Family" will be performed, it is pointed out in announcement.
"It is no coincidence that DEUS, after the Podgorica cultural summer, is starting with the exhibition of the great man of the Montenegrin contemporary art scene, Dragan Karadzic. It is a reflection of the appreciation and respect we show, proud of the constellation of great artists whose creativity has been promoting Podgorica and Montenegro in the best way for decades." said the secretary of the Secretariat for Culture and Sports, Ana Medigović.
Medigović emphasized the conception of the program, saying that it is a "rich, meaningful and genre-diverse repertoire".
That, "Karadžić's disparate body of art is connected by circular philosophical and artistic regularities, which undoubtedly set his creativity apart as a unique work of lyrical provenance, which we do not find a counterpart in Montenegrin contemporary painting", said art theorist and curator of the exhibition Selma Đečević.
As he says, "if a song is existence, as Rilke says, then this expanded view of the concept of singing is authentically contained in the book of Dragan Karadžić's paintings, which touch the dream of the world".
"Within this year's edition of DEUS, from December 1 to 28, the audience will be able to attend extremely high-quality literary, theatrical, musical, film and visual arts programs," the announcement concludes.
