- The new program provides restaurants and retail stores with tools that will help them digitize their business by developing online channels.
- Glovo aims to encourage the growth of SMEs in online sales channels, given that globally only 20% of retailers have a digital presence.
- The launch of the program is in line with research conducted by Glovo in nine markets, which found that 48% of representatives of the restaurant and retail industry believe that the digital experience of their customers is becoming more important than the in-person experience.
Podgorica, December 6, 2022. years – With inflation and rising prices, Glovo — the app that pioneered multi-category offers — launches Glovo Local. This program, which will enable the digitization of products and services and promote economic growth, is aimed at small and medium-sized enterprises in the retail and restaurant industry.
As part of the Glovo Local program, local businesses have the opportunity to, according to their needs, in one place and platform choose the most adequate solutions for their business.
The services available to them under the program include digital and operational solutions for their own channels and stores; dedicated tools that help them manage their point-of-sale processes (from data insights to supply chain solutions) and grow their business with marketing and advertising opportunities to reach new customers and increase their visibility. All of the above is part of an ecosystem based on learning and development opportunities and as such includes guidance and support that can be useful to businesses in the digitalization process.
"In Montenegro, a significant part of our partners are small local companies whose potential we strongly believe in." We are aware of our role in supporting local businesses to become digital, and with the Glovo Local program we put them at the center of our strategy, strengthening our technological and operational efforts to bring them better solutions to improve their business. Using the tools Glovo Local provides, we can help them reach more customers, accelerating their path to growth and sustainable profitability. In this way, we open the way for companies to develop and stimulate the local economy", expires Bojana Radović, executive director of Glovo for Montenegro.
Glovo Local, a program that starts in all 25 markets where Glovo operates, is the first program of its kind in Europe, Africa and Asia that offers a consolidated portfolio of services and solutions for small and medium-sized enterprises that are adapted to their needs.
Launching the Glovo Local program is in accordance with research which Glovo conducted in the period from September to November 2022. The research was conducted on more than 3.200 SMEs in the food and restaurant industry in nine markets in Europe and Africa and showed that more than one third of SMEs (34%) consider that reaching new customers is the main challenge, while almost half (48%) of them in all countries believe that the digital experience of their users is becoming more important than the live experience.
Among the factors that have led SMEs to seek additional support are changes in consumer habits, high inflation, lower consumer spending and pervasive macroeconomic risks.
