Asphalting of village streets has begun in Župa Nikšićka Municipal Health Centre

In the Local Community (MZ) of Župa Nikšićka, asphalting of village streets has begun through the IFAD program.

According to Dragoljub Radulović, the president of the local community, the MZ Council applied for nine sections, and seven were approved in a total length of 2,4 km. The value of the works is around 230.000 euros.

"This year alone in the Župa municipality, through the program of the municipality of Nikšić, and through the IFAD program, close to 11 kilometers of rural roads were asphalted, and for the last four years, a total of about 35 km of roads were paved in the villages of the county, which significantly improved the road infrastructure in our town. This fact speaks volumes about the state of the infrastructure in Župa," said Radulović

These activities will continue in the next year, and in the first half of 2023, in accordance with the agreement with the local administration, about six kilometers of roads will be asphalted in Župa.

"It turned out that due to the very configuration of the terrain in Župa, anything other than asphalting the streets is not a good solution, and this was also shown by the recent floods that damaged many macadam streets. Therefore, the goal is to asphalt the majority of the streets in the coming period and thus, above all, make it easier the living of parish households, and it also saves energy that would be spent on embankment and partial rehabilitation," said Radulović.

As he said, in 2023, the dynamics of infrastructure improvement works are expected to continue in Župa, and this primarily refers to the continuation of the reconstruction of the main road, for which the construction project is underway, and part of the funds have already been provided through the capital budget of the Government of Montenegro. Above. In the following days, according to his words, the Council of the Ministry of Health will have a meeting with the representatives of the Government in order to concretize further activity on the projects in the County.

"All of this shows that, through its actions and activities, the MU Župa has acquired partners in both municipal and state institutions, and a special emphasis is given by the connection with international funds, such as IFAD, through whose projects we have had benefits through projects for the last four years in the amount of about 1,1 million euros. There is still a lot of work left, so I believe that we will persevere with the outlined plans," said the President of the Municipal Health Župa.
