The National Flood Response Team of Montenegro and HBRN will participate in the international NATO field exercise in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The team is made up of representatives of the Directorate for Emergency Situations of the Ministry of Interior of Montenegro, and representatives of the Protection Service of Podgorica, Cetinje, Kotor and Ulcinj.

Welcoming the representatives of the national team, the director of the Directorate for Emergency Situations, Mirsad Mulić, pointed out that today is an important date for the protection and rescue system in Montenegro, because for the first time, as a member of the Alliance, our country has its own team at such an important international event.

Mulić pointed out that membership in NATO entails certain benefits but also certain obligations.

"We felt the benefits during the fire season when we sent a request to the Alliance for help in extinguishing the fire, and when the help arrived within 24 hours and was very effective. On the other hand, we also have an obligation to help NATO members and partner countries in accordance with our capabilities , that's why we have to build our own capacities for response at the national level and at the same time improve our capacities for regional response," Mulić said.

The exercise will take place in Tuzla from September 25-29.

There will be over a thousand participants at the exercise, from 32 countries, with over 20 national teams.
