Floods at the mouth of Bojana

As a result of heavy rainfall, strong southerly wind and probably the release of water from the dams on the Drima in Albania, the Bojana overflowed in the night between Friday and Saturday, which led to the flooding of buildings and restaurants, as well as the banks and access roads at both mouths of the river.

One of the owners of the restaurant in Bojana Igor Knezevic he said that everything started around two after midnight and that it lasted until the early hours of the morning when the south weakened and the river began to flow more strongly into the sea.

As during the recent storm, water penetrated into his restaurant, partly into the kitchen and toilets.

"I've been on Bojana for a long time, but I don't remember that in an hour and a half the river level rose by more than a meter. "Probably, there was a release of water from the dams on Drima in Albania, because it is impossible that all the water came from the lake," Knežević told "Vijesta".

Alarmingly in Gusinje, Riverside is under water again

A storm followed by heavy rain caused flooding in Berane, Plav, Gusinje and Andrijevica.

Residents of Donji Talum, dissatisfied with the reaction of local services, organized a protest drive through the city, and for about 15 minutes they blocked the street in front of the municipal building.

The President of the Municipality of Berane, Vuko Todorović, said that he will do everything within the competence of the local administration to help the residents of the settlements threatened by floods.

"Tonight, we provided food and other necessary necessities for all of them. They were very reasonable in talking to us because they know that this problem is not from yesterday".
