Journalist ND Vijesti Damira Kalač is a recipient of an award from the Environmental Protection Agency.
Kalač, as stated in the justification, received the Eco-Ambassador recognition because of journalistic stories that point out problems in the system of environmental protection and nature protection, and contribute to raising awareness of specific problems in this area.
The Eco-ambassador awards for 2022 were also presented to Aleksandar Dragićević, for his activism with which he initiated important issues of nature protection, which resulted in stopping the destruction of nature in Montenegro in 2022.
Vuk Vujisić was also awarded, the initiator of activities that pointed out the problem of illegal exploitation of gravel and sand, then as one of the initiators of the "Let's Green Montenegro" campaign and other topics within investigative journalism.
Awards were also presented to Vladimir Novović, an environmental activist who significantly contributed to the protection of Montenegrin rivers, and Stefan Peković, as an example of youth social activism and awareness of a responsible attitude towards the environment.
"The intention is that these recognitions will be awarded in the coming period as well, that is, that the same will become a practice, in the hope that in this way we will encourage social activism in the field of the environment, but also that we oblige the holders of these prestigious titles to continue to be promoters of responsible attitude towards the environment and positive examples for all of us. We are convinced that the eco ambassadors will continue to point out environmental problems with their daily activities, motivate the local community and help them process cases that are not examples of a responsible attitude towards the environment, and raise awareness to the public about a responsible attitude towards the environment", the statement of the Environmental Protection Agency states.
