In the heart of the "Durmitor" National Park, not far from the town of Tepca, this morning, a three-year-old wild boar was shot, Milorad Mitrović, executive director of NGO Breznica, told Vijesti.

The Police Directorate unofficially informed Vijesti that they reported from NP "Durmitor" that a chamois had been shot below Ćurevac and that members of the Žabljak Security Department took a statement from several Russian citizens they found at that location.

Mitrović told Vijest that the guards of the Durmitor National Park found three foreign women on the spot, in addition to the shot deer, while the two poachers who committed the crime managed to escape.

"Through inaccessible terrain - the rocks of the canyon of the Tara River, taking with them two sniper rifles with sophisticated equipment for killing, with which they committed this crime. The ranger service of the NGO 'Breznica' had previously learned that this group of foreign citizens was housed in one of the hotels in Zabljak and in recent months, our activists, as well as locals, have seen them in the protected zone of the National Park with weapons, i.e. long barrels," Mitrović said.

He points out that it is suspected that the two fugitives - poachers "are former members of certain paramilitary structures from Ukraine, who came to Montenegro". "The reason for their arrival is unknown, but what we know for sure is that this group of foreign citizens is in possession of modern weapons and equipment with which they shoot legally protected and endangered game animals (Durmitor chamois) whose numbers have been 'reduced' to the biological minimum. It is especially interesting, how is it possible that these Ukrainian citizens came into possession of such weapons and equipment, such as special equipment: optical night sights, equipment for night hunting/thermal imaging, etc. The question arises whether these criminals brought these weapons and equipment into Crna Gora or did they get it here, in what way and from whom?", announced Mitrović.

He called on the police and the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Pljevlja to immediately announce the details of the event to the public:

"And to publish the full names of all participants in this brazen and heinous killing of a wild boar in the protected zone of the national park. We also call on the Police Department to urgently inform the public and citizens whether they are looking for and located Ukrainian citizens who have escaped the law and who are in escape and if the answer is - 'Yes', to inform the public and citizens of the results of that search. If they do not do so within twenty-four hours, we will contact the public and citizens with other details and information in our possession, with full with the names of the participants of this, by all the characteristics of a terrorist criminal act," said Mitrović.
