President of the Democratic People's Party (DNP) Milan Knežević, on the occasion of Christmas Day and Christmas, which are celebrated according to the Gregorian calendar, sent congratulations to the Archbishop of Bar, Monsignor Rok Đonlešaj, the Bishop of Kotor, Monsignor Ivan Štironja, the clergy and all believers of the Roman Catholic faith.
As stated in the DNP announcement, Knežević expressed his belief that multi-confessional Montenegro represents not only one of the foundations of its past, but also a pledge of a peaceful future and understanding of all religions and nations, for the benefit of this country and its citizens.
"The President of the DNP emphasizes that religious holidays like these represent moments of internal and family harmony, making a pledge of the peaceful future of Montenegro, its overall dignity and understanding among religions and nations. Knežević also emphasizes the undeniable fact that Montenegro cultivates such multi-faith harmony and understanding, which few countries in Europe and the world can be proud of, and wants us to continue to be an example of multi-religious and multinational harmony, side by side with the most prominent nations," the DNP statement reads.
