Prime Minister in technical mandate Dritan Abazović announced on Telegram that the Government of Montenegro is starting to take urgent and long-term measures for Pljevlja.
Due to air pollution, Pljevlja is in an alarming situation in recent days.
"Today, a meeting was held in the Government building with the Minister of Ecology, Spatial Planning and Urbanism, Ana Novaković Đurović, and the Director of the Environmental Protection Agency, Milan Gazdić, regarding the enormous air pollution and the difficult ecological situation in Pljevlje, as well as in other Montenegrin cities," said Abazović.
As he said at the meeting, it was decided that the Government should adopt urgent and long-term measures.
"Urgent measures:

- The government will provide financial assistance in the procurement of air purifiers for hospitals, kindergartens and schools, as well as public institutions and households.
- The government will provide a sufficient amount of N95 protective masks.
- The office of the Environmental Protection Agency will be opened in Pljevlja
- The government will appoint an environmental inspector for Pljevlja, and until his appointment, inspectors from Podgorica and Beran will constantly carry out supervision in that city.
He also stated that next week the Government will form a team that will propose long-term measures:
"Make a decision to declare the heating of Pljevlja as a project of public interest in order to speed up its implementation.
- Subsidize thermal insulation of buildings.
- Accelerate the heating projects of other cities in the north that have a problem with enormous air pollution," said Abazović.
