After the parking lot on Bulevar Stanko Dragojevića, on the site of the former "Morača" barracks, was closed due to the construction of an underground garage, drivers park their cars in a part of the fenced Njegoševo Park.
Part of the fence, across from the United Nations building, has been removed, and many drivers choose to park in that location.
Due to the large number of cars, it is not uncommon for cars to be parked deep in the greenery of the park.
The company "Fab live" started work on Stanko Dragojević Boulevard in April of this year, and due to the removal of a larger parking space, drivers are forced to park their vehicles in places farther from the city center.
The Communal Police is responsible for penalizing drivers for parking on a green area. "Vijesti" did not receive a concrete answer to the previously sent question, whether and how many fines were issued to individuals for parking on the green in Njegoševo Park. It was pointed out that municipal police officers carry out communal inspections every day in order to suppress the parking of vehicles on green and other public areas, in the territory of Podgorica and city municipalities.
According to the Law on Communal Activities, for illegal parking on a green surface, a natural person is subject to a fine of 100 euros, while for the same offense a legal person must pay 1.000 euros, a responsible person 100 euros, and an entrepreneur 200 euros.
