Ambassador of France in Montenegro, Christian Timonije, said that the country is open to any kind of cooperation, especially in the field of training and improving the capacity of the Montenegrin police.
He announced this during his visit to the Police Academy, during which he met with the director of the academy, Vladimir Stanišić, according to the press release of the Danilovgrad Police Academy.
Timonije expressed his interest in the cooperation of the academy and other police educational institutions, as well as in the subjects, duration and concept of the educational program for police officers.
"I will inform the OSCE Mission and the EU Delegation in Montenegro about the progress and conclusions of the meeting," concluded Timonije, saying that these institutions are important partners in the further work and development of the academy and the improvement of the work of the Montenegrin police and other security services.
Timonije and Stanišić agree that organized crime, corruption, human trafficking, cross-border cooperation, public order and peace, and computer crime are just some of the topics of common interest not only to Montenegro and France, but also to countries in the region and the entire European Union.
Stanišić informed Timonije about the institution's history, activities and capacities, as well as the challenges they face in their daily work and activities, the statement concludes.
