The search for the boy was called off due to worsening weather conditions

Due to worsening weather conditions - strengthening of the south wind, rising seas and reduced visibility due to low cloud cover and showers of rain, the search for the missing boy from Herceg Novi was stopped today around 13 pm.

The search of the water area of ​​the Topalj Bay has not yielded results even today, even with the use of 3D sonar from the Fisheries Inspection vessel, which enables a detailed ultrasound search of the seabed.

The forces that searched for the missing child today from the sea, land and underwater received two calls from citizens who noticed something floating in the sea from the shore, but on both occasions it turned out that it was not the body of a drowned person.

In the first case, it was about a large sea turtle that was spotted near Njivic, while in the second case, it was about a wooden coil for electric cables that somehow got into the sea from the shore and floated in the bay, carried by waves and sea currents.

The search, depending on weather conditions, continues on Monday.

The water area in front of the city was searched from the sea by two scooters of the Maritime Safety and Port Management Administration of Montenegro.

Electronic tracking of the path by which the vessel of the Fisheries Inspection "Nada" searched the underwater part of the Topalj Bay with sonar.

RCUD divers also searched the underwater area in the immediate vicinity of the "Pet Danica" promenade, from which stormy waves swept a 13-year-old boy into the sea on Tuesday evening, even though the sea is still very cloudy today, and the visibility below the surface is again low.

The Protection and Rescue Services of the Municipality of Herceg Novi and the Municipality of Kotor also participated in the search, where the residents of Kotor also engaged their own divers, which the Municipal Service - the only one in Montenegro with such abilities - has in its composition.

Due to low cloud cover and reduced visibility caused by rain showers, there are currently no conditions for the helicopters of the Army of Montenegro to be involved in the search from the air.
