The jubilee "Maslinijada", one of the most important olive festivals in Montenegro, opened today in Bar.
On the occasion of the twentieth edition of the event held in honor of the olive tree, as a symbol of the town under Rumija, which brought together more than 40 exhibitors of olives and olive oil, wine, honey and other agricultural products, the President of the Municipality of Bar Dušan Raičević said "Maslinijada" at the best presents the wealth of Bar and its tradition in the best possible way.
"Olive growing as a culture has flourished and has a huge development perspective not only in our city, but throughout Montenegro. This is supported by the fact that our olive growers win valuable international awards, and the quality of olive oil from Bar is something we can be proud of. In addition to the traditional support for the organization of the "Maslinijada" event, the local administration through direct subsidies continuously supports all forms of agricultural production in Bar, especially olive growing, which shows that we are a reliable partner to our fellow citizens," he said, as reported by Mediabiro.
Raičević visited all the exhibitors, wished them a successful and happy birthday and thanked them for their commitment to making traditional bar products as high quality as possible and recognized on the market.
The XNUMXth "Oslinijada" was officially opened by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management, Vladimir Joković, and the guests were greeted by Suljo Mustafić, president of the Organizing Committee of the event, writes Mediabiro. In addition to numerous citizens, representatives of social and cultural life and tourists, the opening of the "Olive Festival" was attended by Prime Minister Dritan Abazović, Minister of Health Dragoljub Šćekić, Minister of Sports and Youth Vasilije Lalošević, as well as numerous ambassadors and representatives of the diplomatic corps.
Traditionally, prizes were awarded to the best olive growers for the production of olive oil in two categories - extra virgin single-variety olive oil and oil obtained from several varieties of olives.
In the category of extra virgin monovarietal oils, the first prize went to Halil and Suljo Mustafić, the second to Avdulah Duk Rašketić, and the third to Arsenij Martinović.
The best rated extra virgin multi-varietal oil is the product of Lazar Medigović. In that category, the second prize was awarded to Milan Markolović, and the third to Mirsad Rašketiċ.
The award for the best youth so far, awarded by the NGO "Maslinijada" this year, went to Ibrahim Perazić, and the award for the best crop in 2022 was presented to Zejnel Rašketić. The award for the best maintained olive grove, awarded by the NGO Maslinijada, went to Damir Krnić.
Bar olive growers Rajka and Lazar Bozović awarded the awards for the best young olive grove so far to Edin Petović and the best revitalized young olive grove to Radomir Popović.
The "Miodrag Mili Martinovic" Foundation awarded Nijazim Beċović an award for the best maintained olive grove.
The event was organized under the auspices of the Municipality of Bar, organized by the NGO "Maslinijada" and the NGO Association of Olive Growers "Antivari" Stari Bar, with the support of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management and the local Tourist Organization.
