In the settlement of Donji Talum, in Berane, large landfills were filmed on the coast of Lim.
This was recorded by the non-governmental organization (NGO) "Euromost" with the Sports Fishing Club "Lim", that the car waste from those landfills is located along the river, and that many parts are floating, judging that it is an environmental incident.
The NGO said that citizens of Beran who live near that settlement contacted them, reporting the burning of tires and plastic parts from cars every day.
The "Euromost" organization stated that this action will be one in a series that they will jointly implement in the future in addition to Bijeli Polje and in Plav, Andrijevica and Berane.
SRK Lim explained that before the floods, there was a lot of waste that the river carried to Serbia, while now it can be seen that a new landfill was immediately formed in a short time.
The NGO "Euromost" said that they submitted reports to the competent inspections in Berane and the Ministries, as well as the Directorate for Inspection Affairs regarding today's environmental incidents.
"We also informed the ODT Berane to investigate whether criminal acts of environmental destruction were committed, as well as the criminal act of occupying state land," they added.
They emphasize that they will continue to do this in the future for any destruction of the Lim River and from the area of the Municipality of Bijelo Polje, and now together with SRK from Beran, Andrijevica and Plav and from the area of these Municipalities.
The NGO Euromost will sign a cooperation agreement with those sports fishing clubs, with the aim of protecting the Lim River in the municipalities through which the river passes.
