The Center for Investigative Journalism of Montenegro (CIN-CG) invites those interested to react against hate speech in the media in a text of no longer than 4.500 characters without spacing, an audio or video attachment of up to three minutes, an illustration, a post in carousel form or reels, on social networks, in the statements of decision-makers, public figures or citizens.

It is necessary that the attached works are original, that they have not been published before.

Hate speech has a negative impact on the overall situation in Montenegro, encourages polarization and stigma, often violence, and is usually aimed at dissenters, minority groups, women, political opponents... By pointing out this problem, we intend to influence those responsible to systematically solve dangerous outpourings of hatred, which often go unanswered by institutions.

The three best works will be published on the website of CIN-CG and social networks and awarded with a fee of 500, 300 and 200 euros in gross amount.

The selection of works will be carried out by a committee of three members.

The following are eligible to apply: journalists, civil activists, artists, students from Montenegro.

Interested candidates should send their works by March 15, 2023 to e-mail: redaktionacincg@gmail.com, with the indication: Competition - Against hate speech. The results of the competition will be published no later than March 31, 2023.
