The Capital City Protection and Rescue Service published a video from the Turkish city of Kahramanmaras, one of the hardest hit by the devastating earthquake on February 6.

Commander Goran Janković said that the rescuers from Podgorica and their colleagues from Nikšić are fine, stressing that they found a "catastrophic situation" on the ground, hundreds of destroyed residential buildings and that the whole situation is very serious.

Janković said that so far they managed to pull out 32 victims and that yesterday together with other colleagues they rescued a child from the ruins.

"And we from Podgorica and our colleagues from Nikšić are, when it comes to the mood, really at a high level. First of all, we are autonomous when it comes to water, food and accommodation, we brought food and water for seven to ten days... We will be without burdening the state of Turkey, what happened to them is enough," Janković said in a video on the Facebook page of the Capital City's SZS.

He pointed out that the problem is that a large number of family members of the victims are on the spot. "At certain moments, there are also riots, nervousness, anger and police interventions, given that the removal of objects and the finding of victims is not going at the pace they would like," he added.

He said that the teams from Montenegro are up to the task. "We will not ruin our cities and country. We will try to save at least one life and help as much as we can," Janković concluded.
