Yesterday, after 47 days from the last salary, part of the healthcare workers received their salary for January. At the end of last week, they complained about the delay, claiming that according to the Branch Collective Agreement, the state is obliged to pay wages for the previous month by the tenth of the current month.
Healthcare employees received their December wages on December 28 last year.
The Health Insurance Fund (FZO) told "Vijesta" yesterday that the institution completed the calculation of wages for employees in the public health system on Friday, February 10, and that it was submitted to the State Treasury for further processing.
"According to the information we have, the employees of the health care institutions received their salaries on Monday," the institution's response states.
Doctors from the primary level of health care protested earlier because the new branch collective agreement abolished the part related to capitation and services, which is why some doctors, despite the increase in wages in the previous period, now receive up to several hundred euros less.
Last week, the Montenegrin Health Trade Union called on the Ministries of Finance and Health to act urgently in order to increase the wage rate for employees in that area by 7,5 percent.
From this union, they said that the salaries of employees in health care were increased by 12,5 percent, with the explanation that they achieved exceptional results in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic, while the salaries of employees in other sectors were increased by 20 percent, with the announcement of further increases.
"There is an urgent need for salary correction for healthcare workers in such a way that the salary coefficients will increase by 7,5 percent. We expect an urgent response from the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Health on this issue," states the statement signed by the president of the Health Trade Union Vladimir Pavicevic.
The Union also emphasized that the urgent formation of a working group to work on the salary chapter in the Branch Collective Agreement is necessary in order to correct irregularities in the salary range of certain qualification levels.
