The project coordinator of the IOM Agency at the United Nations, Tijana Simić, announced that they are ready to support many projects to connect the diaspora and Montenegro.
She announced this during her visit to the Administration for Cooperation with Diaspora-Emigrants, during which she met with the Acting Assistant Director of the Administration, Arben Jakupi.
As stated in the announcement of the Directorate for Cooperation with Diaspora-Expatriates, Simić said that with a good Action Plan, "Montenegro will be the next member and active participant at the Global Diaspora Summit in 2026."
Jakupi praised the interest of this institution in forming future cooperation with the Administration.
He introduced Simić to future projects that are planned, as he says, "with the aim of continuity and strengthening of communication with the Montenegrin diaspora".
"He also reminded of the implementation of this year's event "Diaspora-emigrant Days", which will be held in Plav, as well as the summer school of language and culture "Montenegro moja postojbina", which will be implemented in Ivanovo Koriti, as well as other important activities until the end of the year," the announcement states.
"Simić and Jakupi agree that there is a lot of space for cooperation, and they also agreed on future cooperation on projects to strengthen and improve the situation between the diaspora and the state of Montenegro," the announcement concludes.
