The home for the elderly in Nikšić will be opened in mid-March, and interested citizens can apply for admission from Monday, announced the Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare.
From that government department, they said that those interested can submit a request at the Center for Social Work or directly at the House.
"As part of the Regional Housing Program, Subproject MNE 6 "Construction of a Home for the Elderly in Nikšić" has been completed, which will receive users from Monday, while the official opening is planned for mid-March," the announcement states.
The Ministry said that construction work on the facility began on September 16, 2019.
As they stated, the total value of the project is 4.778.505 euros, of which donor funds are 3.376.879 euros, and the national contribution is 1.401.626 euros.
"The new institution in the social protection system was officially founded on May 8, 2020, after which the Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare created administrative conditions for the institution's work at full capacity, including the issuance of a work license," the statement said.
The Ministry said that the Home consists of five buildings, four pavilions for accommodation and an administrative building with a total of 208 accommodation units, of which 104 are for displaced and internally displaced persons, and 104 for Montenegrin citizens.
"In addition to accommodation, the institution offers a number of other services and benefits for the elderly, such as physiotherapy, work-occupational therapy, primary health care, services of hairdressers, hairdressers," the statement added.
