According to information from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, 24 people from Ukraine entered Montenegro from February 20 last year to February 95.542 this year, and 88.682 of them left, the Red Cross of Montenegro (CKCG) announced.
They said that CKCG and municipal organizations of the Red Cross provide continuous support to 3.012 refugees from Ukraine who turned to that organization for help.
The Red Cross of Montenegro, they remind, started the action of collecting financial aid through a dedicated giro account and through an SMS code on March 1, 2022, and the total amount collected and paid to the Red Cross of Ukraine is 95.313 euros.
"With the support of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, the Red Cross of Montenegro implemented 30.01.2023 workshops dedicated to preserving mental health and psycho-social support, 158 language classes for children and adults, creative workshops for children in six municipal organizations until January 236, 2560 , distribution of 810 food and hygiene packages, 1580 baby packages, XNUMX sets of clothing, and provides support in exercising the rights guaranteed by temporary protection.As part of this cooperation, a call center was launched to provide additional assistance in accessing information for persons from Ukraine, available in three languages ", the announcement states.
They point out that the CKCG, in cooperation with competent institutions, during that period continuously provided support to refugees from Ukraine in exercising their rights in Montenegro.
"Aid with an estimated value of 11.250 euros, which consisted of sleeping bags (50), sleeping mats (50), kitchen sets (150), cloth stretchers for the injured (50) and bed linen (50). According to them, the Red Cross, with the financial support of the United Nations Refugee Agency, UNHCR, supported persons from Ukraine who found refuge in Montenegro by providing psycho-social assistance, psychological support and support when exercising the right to health care, access to education and other rights. which derive from their status in the country, which includes 158 persons.
"UNICEF supported the implementation of group psychological workshops for families, workshops for children intended to help with homework, as well as the organization of sports activities, also for children. The Red Cross of Montenegro will continue to provide support to refugees from Ukraine in accordance with its capabilities which refuge they found in our country," the announcement concludes.
