The project of construction of a sewage system for four settlements in Ulcinj, Donja Bratica, Bijela Gora, Totoši and Kodre, worth almost five million euros, has entered the final phase, it was confirmed to "News" in the municipal Secretariat for Investments.
The work on the demanding route K1, from the Kalamper pump to the Health Center, will be completed in about ten days, when the asphalting of this very frequent road section and the installation of sidewalks will begin. V. d. Secretary for Investments Minir Karamanaga he said that the implementation of the first phase of the project with smaller interventions in other parts of the city, such as Ulcinjsko polje, will be completed by June 15.
After the summer, the facilities will be connected to the network.
"The work on the K1 route is going much faster now because it is being done at a depth of one to 1,3 meters. In the beginning, we carried out the work at a depth of four meters, so I expect that around March 15th we will start asphalting and laying sidewalks, weather permitting. Very soon after that, we will put into operation the street whose blockade resulted in large traffic jams, since alternative routes were used", said Karamanaga.
Funds for the project of around five million euros have been secured from a loan from the European Investment Bank.
With the implementation of this project, as the local administration pointed out earlier, the situation in Port Milena will be improved by up to 70 percent compared to the current one.
Karamanaga also announced the imminent publication of a tender for asphalting streets in the city, worth around 400 euros.
"This time it's not about the main streets or boulevards in the city, but it's certainly about those important for the functioning of traffic. The reason for this is that the implementation of the project for the water supply of the city, worth around 20 million euros, will soon begin, so we wanted to avoid crossing with their routes, which will be the subject of the works", said Karamanaga.
Karamanaga said that he expects to soon sign a contract with the most favorable bidder in the recently closed tender for the construction of a parking lot behind the Solidarity buildings in the immediate vicinity of the Municipality.
"The tender was worth around 100 euros, we have interested parties and we will soon conclude the contract with the most favorable bidder. The parking capacity will be 60 spaces. He does not expect the Municipality to hand it over to the Parking Service. We are thinking about other variants, we will see more", said Karamanaga.
