As they claim, "(Aleksa) Đekić was taught more by the repressive methods inherent in penal and correctional systems than by institutions where citizens' health care is provided."

The Union of Medical Doctors of Montenegro sent its support to the employees of the Herceg Novi Health Center and called on them to remain "resistant to threats and intimidation sent by the management".

"On several occasions, over the past two months, we have pointed out that the appointment of persons without the necessary qualifications and experience in health care can threaten the functioning of health institutions and the provision of quality health care to citizens," states the statement signed by the president of the Union, Milena Popović Samardžić.

The union emphasized that today's protests in front of the Herzegovinian Health Center are the exclusive organization of Health Center employees.

"Any insinuation by the director of the Health Center that it is about political abuse of employees is a dishonest and inaccurate construction that aims to distract attention from the incompetent and incompetent management of the institution," they said.

The statement adds that during the short period of leadership of the current director of the Herceg Novi Health Center, the only thing that stands out is "the party's employment of non-medical personnel, frequent rotations of employees that weaken the quality of the work of the service, intimidation, punishment of unsuitable and rewarding of loyal party-installed staff".

"Harmony, interpersonal relations, and the quality of work have been greatly threatened in a very short time to the level that required the reaction of employees in the entire collective. After today's protest, by order of the director, the participants in the protest are asked to "make an official note, a statement of why they left to the protest, who is the organizer of the protest and whether the service where they work is organized for undisturbed work during the protest," said the union.

They called on the government to consider assigning Đekić to a position that corresponds to his qualifications and previous experience because, as they claim, "Đekić was taught more by the repressive methods inherent in penal and correctional systems than by institutions where citizens' health care is provided."
