Joković announced drones and equipment for the protection of Lim, said that repressive measures are needed

The Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management, Vladimir Joković, announced that he will provide communal municipal police with drones, as well as the equipment needed to protect the Lim River.

This was announced by the non-governmental organization Euromost, which marked March 14 - the International Day of Rivers in Plav, with an international conference: "How to protect the Lim River from Lake Plav to the Drina".

As they said, Joković said that repressive measures must be implemented, as well as the education of citizens.

In addition to the minister, the conference was attended by presidents and representatives of municipalities in Montenegro, Serbia and the Bosnian-Herzegovinian entity of Republika Srpska through which Lim passes, representatives of international organizations, sports fishing associations, associations from three countries, representatives of the Water Administration, the Environmental Protection Agency environment, Directorate for Fisheries and others.

"The large response to this event showed that everyone is interested in jointly returning this river to its place, among the cleanest rivers in Europe," Euromost points out.

At the conference, as they state, it was agreed that Joković would organize an intergovernmental meeting in Montenegro in the coming period, to which representatives of the Government of Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and the RS entity will be invited, and at which the dialogue on the Lim River, started at the meeting in 2021, will continue. in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

It was also agreed that the Municipality of Priboj in this municipality will organize an inter-municipal meeting of the presidents of municipalities from Montenegro, Serbia and the RS, through which the Lim River passes, at which they will agree on joint activities aimed at protecting that river.

"One of the conclusions is to point out to the Government of Montenegro the importance of continuing the regional landfill construction project for the Northern region, which has been stopped due to a lack of funds, because all temporary landfills in the north of Montenegro are unconditional, while the temporary landfill of the Municipality of Bijelo Polje, located in "Dobrakovo, as well as the municipalities of Andrijevica, have a huge risk of collapsing not only on the highway, but also in the river Lim itself," Euromost points out.

It was also agreed that the municipalities should form their own working groups, which will work on the protection of the river in their municipalities.
