Due to the irresponsible attitude and the desire for profit, there are numerous examples of the devastation of our water potentials, which are reflected in the endangerment of the source, the bed of our rivers, their pollution, as well as the irrational consumption of water, pointed out Ana Novaković Đurović.
The Ministry of Ecology, Spatial Planning and Urbanism announced that Novaković Đurović, together with the president of the Municipality of Budva, the vice-presidents of the municipalities of Kotor and Tivat, and representatives of the Montenegrin Coastal Regional Water Supply, today visited the started works on the realization of the II phase of the construction of the Regional Water Supply System.
"I want to greet you on behalf of the Government of Montenegro and the Ministry of Ecology, Spatial Planning and Urbanism and express my pleasure that today I have the opportunity to tour with you the started works on the realization of the II phase of the construction of the Regional Water System. The pleasure is all the greater that we are touring on World Water Day, March 22," said Novaković Đurović. She mentioned that Montenegro is rich in water, but that it depends on us whether we valorize that wealth or devastate it.
"She pointed out that due to an irresponsible attitude and the desire for profit, there are numerous examples of the devastation of our water resources, which are reflected in the endangerment of the source, the bed of our rivers, their pollution, as well as the irrational consumption of water. She cited the source of the Regional Water Supply as the best example of such devastation Boljesestre, where due to the irresponsible attitude and illegal exploitation of gravel and sand in the bed of the Morača river, this spring has been devasted and its yield significantly decreased," the statement reads.
"This Government and the Ministry are determined to put an end to these illegal activities," said Novaković Đurović.
As part of the implementation of the II phase of the construction of the Regional Water System, the construction of a new pipeline is planned, which will increase the capacity of the regional water system from the existing 330 l/s to 600 l/s, while considering the possibility of an additional capacity increase to 700-750 l/s. . The construction of a new pipeline is planned on the section Prekidna Komora-Tivat, with a length of approx. 16 km.
