Glovo, one of the world's leading multi-category applications that is also present on the Montenegrin market, has announced its launch Impact Fund, the first global initiative of its kind in the delivery industry. Through this Fund, a certain amount of Glov's earnings from each order is earmarked for projects that deal with positive impact on the community and sustainability.
Fund for influence and plans in Montenegro
When it comes to Montenegro, several projects have been supported through the Impact Fund, primarily the training program for couriers and the provision of support to small and medium-sized enterprises. Couriers had access to different types of online courses and lectures, while partners, through a series of campaigns on the application, had the opportunity to significantly increase their visibility, and therefore the number of orders. The campaign to support small and medium-sized enterprises, conducted from November 15 to December 15, 2022, resulted in a significant increase in orders, by over 100%. In addition, during the duration of the campaign, an increase in the display of partners on the application by over 50% was recorded, as well as an increase in all conversion rates, which indicate that a greater part of the traffic on the application turned into concrete results that contribute to business development for partners.
Plans in the coming period at the level of Glovo Montenegro related to the Impact Fund are aimed at continuing to provide support to various projects and initiatives of importance for the local community and environment. "The first significant step in Montenegro, which is related to the expansion of influence and strengthening of sustainability, is the development of a local strategy for the protection of the environment, society and management. With this ESG strategy, we want to continue creating new opportunities to create more sustainable, inclusive growth, both for us and for the partners we work with. Through this initiative, we plan to launch a series of activities related to the environment, partners, couriers, our employees and the community, which are in line with the vision of the Fund itself and the sustainability goals of Glov on a global level," she said executive director of Glov for Montenegro, Bojana Radović.
The six pillars of the Impact Fund
From mid-2021 to the end of 2023, the Impact Fund will allocate a total of up to five million euros for projects around the world related to supporting local communities, combating climate change, digitizing small local businesses, gender equality in the technology sector and support for programs to improve the knowledge and skills of couriers. "It is critical that companies empower those in need and protect the planet. As a unique example in the industry, the Impact Fund will provide vital funding to contribute to solving socio-environmental challenges such as supporting local communities, digitizing SMEs, combating climate change, closing the gender gap in the technology sector and improving couriers around the world . With each order, Glov users will support initiatives that create positive changes within communities and in the environment," He said Sebastien Pellion, Head of Impact and Sustainability at Glov.
In 2023, the Impact Fund will focus on the Glovo Access program, through which courier services are made available to non-governmental organizations to distribute products to vulnerable families. In addition, the funds allocated through the Fund will accelerate the reduction of the carbon footprint by 2030 in the complete value chain through the use of electric vehicles and the provision of packaging made of sustainable and ecological materials. By further implementing the Glovo Local program, the right tools and training will continue to be provided to restaurants and sellers on the application, which will help them digitize and develop their business, while through financing training for young women, they will get the opportunity to start a career in the technology sector. Certain funds will also be directed to the implementation of courses and training for couriers aimed at their professional development and acquisition of the skills they need for more qualified jobs and positions, but also for helping Ukraine.
