In 2018, when I asked several colleagues where the money that police officers pay into the union fund goes, instead of answering, we were declared enemies of the state and together with our families we experienced a lot of inconvenience, Igor Rmandić, president of the Independent Police Union, announced today.
"Today, five years later, when we ask the question of competence, knowledge and legality in work, instead of an answer, we get the accusation that we ask these questions for misogynistic reasons. Poor, sad and at the same time very dangerous. Poor and sad because in the absence of arguments, ignorance, incompetence and incompetence they are trying to hide behind their gender affiliation. It is dangerous because in a very insidious, perfidious and extremely malicious way, they are trying to attach the label of misogyny to an organization and thereby collapse its credibility in the public," Rmandić pointed out in the announcement.
He reacted to the statement of the President of the Ethics Committee of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MUP), Kristina Đukanović, who, among other things, accused Rmandić of a misogynistic attack.
Rmandić said that the Independent Union of the Police of Montenegro firmly supports, encourages and affirms not only gender equality but also any other equality.
"The best proof of that is the large number of our female colleagues who are members of the union in which they have the highest degree of respect, appreciation and attention. Such a senseless and malicious attack on us is just another "point blank shot" by those who are trying to defend the indefensible," he said. is Rmandic.
He said that following the logic of Đukanović, they could refer to misandry, but they will not do that, because, as he added, they are pleading to be a serious labor organization that will not deal with constructions and subversions, but will base its work exclusively on the Constitution and the laws of the state. of Montenegro as well as on truth and solid arguments.
"The fact that someone is male or female, that he feels this way or that way, that he prays or does not pray to God, that he belongs to this or that nation must not be a shield and cover for anyone's ignorance, incompetence and mistakes he makes in his work. The only measurable and the recognized criterion must be the quality of the work done, and who we are, where we are from and how we feel cannot and must not have any role in the assessment of anyone's work," Rmandić said.
He invited Đukanović to, together with him, make available to the public all their diplomas as well as their CVs.
"In order to help the citizens to correctly conclude what this is really about, in order to remove all doubts regarding competence, knowledge and abilities when it comes to security affairs, I suggest to Mrs. Đukanović, the head of the cabinet of the Minister of Internal Affairs and the President of the Ethics Committee of the MUP, that she and I make available to the public all our diplomas we have as well as our CVs. As someone who has the lowest position in the police hierarchy, I am ready to do that as much as today. Is Mrs. Đukanović, as someone who covers very high positions in the Ministry of Internal Affairs ready to do the same?" concluded Rmandić.
