The Supreme State Prosecutor's Office announced that a report on the work of the Prosecutor's Council and the State Prosecutor's Office for the past year was submitted to the Assembly, in which, as a key problem, it is pointed out that the security of persons, property and facilities of the state prosecutor's offices was not organized, because it was prevented by the approved budget funds the filling of vacant positions, and therefore the employment of prosecutor's security.
"When explaining the needs of the Budget Plan, since the Prosecutor's Security Service was established, both in the reporting period and in the previous period, the importance and necessity of providing funds for these needs was pointed out, however, they were not approved," the report states.
The document, as announced, was prepared in accordance with the amended Methodology for the preparation of the Report on the work of the Prosecutorial Council and the State Prosecutor's Office, which was established by the Prosecutorial Council, and which was prepared with the support of the Program Office of the Council of Europe within the framework of the joint program of the European Union and the Council of Europe Horizontal mechanism for the Western Balkans and Turkey "Responsibility and professionalism in the judicial system of Montenegro".
In addition to data on the work of the Prosecutor's Council for 2022, the report contains a description and analysis of the situation in the State Prosecutor's Office, data for each prosecutor's office, problems and shortcomings in their work, as well as measures that should be taken to eliminate the observed shortcomings.
