Tenants from one of the buildings in Ulica Mitra Bakića in Podgorica received enormous water bills for the previous month of as much as 514 or 170 euros, although their average bills are up to 14 euros.
The deputy director of the "Vodovod i Kanalizacija" company, Filip Makrid, explained that there was probably a failure of the common water meter in the building, and that the teams would go out into the field.
He instructed the citizens, who received enormously high water bills for August, to contact the commercial sector in Vodovod, to write a complaint. After that, as he explained, the team and the company's Commission will go to the field to see what is at stake, in order to comply with the legal legislation.
"Well, in accordance with the procedure, we will cancel those invoices," Makrid said.
The water utility buys water meters
Vodovod will buy new water meters from the company "Sigillum co" from Podgorica for 244.166 euros. The company, which was chosen in the tender that Vodovod announced on July 27, will deliver water meters for a period of one year.
The tender was conducted according to a shortened procedure of 22 days, because the Waterworks stated that the water meter replacement campaign is in progress in order to improve the water supply system in the city territory, for which only a part of the water meter has been procured.
