Minister of the Interior Filip Adžić and presidents of the union of the Police Administration and the Ministry of the Interior (MUP), Mladen Šuškavčević and Danilo Radunović, signed the Collective Agreement for MUP employees, which foresees a ten percent increase in coefficients from January 1 next year.

Adžić said that the signing of the Collective Agreement is a historical matter, considering that more than 20 years have been waiting for the preparation of that document and the regulation of relations in the MUP.

"The results achieved in the last two years had to be rewarded in this way as well. I believe that with this document we got a more favorable status for all employees and better defined their rights and obligations", said Adžić.

He said that it was agreed that the coefficient for the employees of the MUP be increased by ten percent from January 1 of the following year.

"Prerequisites have been created so that, if there are budget funds, there will be an additional increase of at least ten percent on January 1, 2025, which will be a good incentive for all employees to continue doing their jobs responsibly," Adžić added.

As he stated, the Collective Agreement obliges the employer to pay 300 euros every year to address the housing needs of employees.

"With the allocations that the government certainly provides, I think that this will also improve that aspect to a large extent," said Adžić.

He announced that the employees will also receive a certain type of increase in relation to the acquired titles.

Adžić said that jubilee awards are better and more clearly defined by the Collective Agreement and that they will probably be paid out more regularly.

"There will be certain increases when it comes to readiness at work. Also, due to the specificity of the work they perform, employees will have more overtime hours than before," Adžić pointed out.

He said that the trade unions showed responsibility and did everything to improve the financial status of employees and that they have earnings similar to their colleagues from better developed countries.

"Employees can be satisfied. The MUP and the trade unions are doing everything in the interest of the employees and I am sure that this will not stop the improvement of the material status of the employees, technical equipment and spatial capacities", said Adžić.

He assessed that for more than 20 years there was no will to sign the Collective Agreement and that someone did not want to regulate relations within the MUP, so that certain people could be privileged.

"We are now bringing all employees to the same level and that is our goal - that everyone has equal rights, that their contributions are valued and that they receive benefits based on their performance," said Adžić.

President of the Trade Union of the Police Administration, Mladen Šuškavčević, said that the Trade Union is happy today because something they have been working on for more than 20 years has come true.

He pointed out that only the Montenegrin police did not have a signed collective agreement and explained that the increases foreseen in that document will cover everyone in the MUP.

Šuškavčević reminded that for the year, at the initiative of the Trade Union, and with the support of Adžić, the salaries of the employees were increased by 40 percent, with overtime and night hours.

"I think that the police of Montenegro should be happy today. I hope that in the future we will achieve even more results on this front", said Šuškavčević.

The President of the MUP Trade Union, Danilo Radunović, said that everyone will benefit from the Collective Agreement, because everything that applies to police officers will also apply to MUP employees.

He said that they have been fighting to sign the Collective Agreement for more than 20 years and that, if it had not been for the involvement of Adžić and his colleagues, they would not have had a good and high-quality contract yet.
