The Tourist Organization (TO) of Mojkovac is planning several key activities that, as they expect, will be a good basis for further development and diversity of the city's tourist offer in the coming years.
Among other things, the development of an innovative tourist product "Eco-ethnic house of Mojkovac" is planned, which will have a "mission" to save from oblivion the old craft of handwork, such as crocheting, knitting or making souvenirs from wood... That, according to TO, is especially a good opportunity for job training of women who will be able to master handicraft techniques through various workshops.
"Eco-ethno house" is conceived as an exhibition and sales space where homemade products will be exhibited, as well as homemade, organic food, such as honey, brandy, dried fruit, teas, juices... The main goal is the affirmation of local artisans and producers of organic food for the purpose of tourism and animation of at least ten local producers and artisans.
In cooperation with the Center for Archaeological Research, the Ministry of Culture and Media, the Ministry of Economic Development and Tourism and the Municipality, TO will, they announce, actively work on the research, protection and promotion of the cultural and historical site "Medieval Brskovo". The promotion of that locality will be intensified, which, they say, is of great importance for the diversity of the tourist offer and the creation of a new cultural segment of the tourist offer.
Among TO's plans is to contribute to the landscaping of the Tara shore in the area under the Old Bridge. The goal is for that space to be equipped and adapted to sports and recreational activities. It is necessary, they say, to arrange the swimming pool with all the missing furniture and bring it to its intended purpose. They also recognized that space as responsible for organizing various events. It is planned to improve the tourist signage and install informative and educational boards with road signs, as well as the further development of the sports and recreational zone on the plateau of the former tailings.
As written in the TO plans, Mojkovac's tourist offer will also be enriched with the viewpoint "Tarski pogled", between the villages of Bistrica and Dobrilovina, near Crni Pod. From the lookout point, they say, there will be a unique view of Tara and the Crna Poda rainforest. A photo frame would be placed on it, with a greeting message from Mojkovac. The excursion trail "Tara ring" is also one of the improved tourist products of Mojkovac.
"We planned to create facilities along the direction of the Old Bridge in Mojkovac to the village of Kaludra, across the bridge in Kaludra, through the villages of Gostilovina and Prošćenje, then in the direction of the settlement of Karaula and further towards the city center, which will make the road attractive for pedestrians and cyclists , excursionists and jeep and quad tours. There will be educational and interpretation boards with interesting data, legends, as well as orientation and information boards, as well as benches, swings and wooden frames for painting in places where there is the best view of the Tara River and the mountains."
The Ministry of Economic Development and Tourism will try to provide funding for that project through various public calls and incentives.
They expect that segment of the tourist offer to attract around 2 visitors per season.
In TO, they state that they recognize the importance of creating the tourist offer of the city through the improvement of technology, so the development of the application "My guide Mojkovac", the installation of "smart benches", the creation of "smart" promotional material, and the positioning of the city on the map of digital nomads and energy tourists are planned...
