The Ministers of Capital Investments, Economic Development and Tourism, Ervin Ibrahimović and Goran Đurović, and the Minister of Science and Technological Development, Biljana Šćepanović, signed today a Memorandum of Cooperation with Danijela Gašparikova, the permanent representative of UNDP in Montenegro.
This was announced by the Ministry of Capital Investments.
"This memorandum is concluded for a period of four years, and represents a step forward in the implementation of activities that contribute to the achievement of the goals of the Green Agenda," the Ministry's announcement states.
The memorandum provides, the announcement adds, that UNDP provides technical support in connection with the creation of solutions that stimulate the use of renewable energy sources, increase energy efficiency in various sectors, with a special focus on the industry sector, and enable the development of innovative and green businesses and contribute to sustainable development.
"By improving the legislative framework, mapping and encouraging technological ones in order to develop concrete solutions in the field of decarbonization, creating systems and support mechanisms for the implementation of incentive programs and promoting private and public investments for low-carbon and green development, in accordance with the principles of the circular economy, we plan to further encourage green the transformation of the Montenegrin economy," the statement added.
According to their words, the signatories today assessed that the Memorandum represents an opportunity to strengthen the capacities of the Government and related institutions, and that it simultaneously represents a confirmation of the strategic commitment of Montenegro to base its further long-term development on the principles of low-carbon development, additionally affirming the commitment of Montenegro confirmed by the Constitution Worse than ecological states.
