On Sunday at 12.30:6.500 p.m., the locals of Bistrica will block the main road Bijelo Polje - Prijepolje, near the Konatari - Gubavac bridge, due to the construction of a quarry in Bijedići, on the Neolithic site itself, which is XNUMX years old.
Today, on the third day of blocking the road to Bijedići, the locals point out that the request is the same - the suspension of works and the termination of the contract signed by the Minister of Capital Investments, Ervin Ibrahimović, with the quarry concessionaire Šućr Omerović, the owner of the company "Elas".
They are outraged that a quarry is being built on the Neolithic site itself, and as confirmed by archaeologist Predrag Lutovac, the archaeological site has been cut and excavated.
Omerović said that he has all the necessary permits for the works and that he is doing everything according to the law.
The people of Bijedic are outraged that the quarry, apart from being located at the location of the Ober site, which originates from the Neolithic, is being built near houses, the source of the water supply for the Gubavac municipality, in a place that depends on the development of agriculture. They demand immediate rehabilitation of the road, which, they claim, has been destroyed and dug up. They note that in this beautiful landscape, which is suitable for the development of tourism, in addition to the Neolithic site, there are two caves that are threatened with destruction.
